    New guy in AZ

Howdy yall. This site was recommended by a number of folks on a city-data. com. I had posted a question regarding pool service companies in my new neighborhood as I am clueless about maintaining a pool and the company I had hired is very unreliable. The overwhelming majority of replies are along the lines of, "had over to TFP and do it yourself!" So heart I am, trying to learn how to keep my pool safe, healthy, clean, and WARM! LOL

    You're done SLAMing when:
    1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

    Welcome to tfp, BunnMan

Make sure you check out the pool school article on test kits...that is the most important tool you can get!
TFP Expert who uses Pool School and my TF100 test kit along with PoolMath for my: Round 11K gallon AGP with deep end, 20" sand filter, Matrix 1hp 2spd, 6 2ftX20ft solar panels (and solar cover!), Intex SWCG (copper bars disconnected) and a Rubadub hot tub (chlorine). The SLAM process is not finished until: 1. CC < 0.5 ppm, 2. An OCLT < 1.0 ppm and, 3. The water is crystal clear.
