Polaris Booster Pump Troubles

My polaris booster pump has gone out. This makes the 3rd one in 4 1/2 years. Is this unusual? What should be the expected life of a booster pump?

That is nuts. That life span is way too short. You might call Polaris and talk to them, and see what they say. Have all three been polaris? I have had very good luck with polaris, but a pool guy I worked for preferred the Pentair booster pump over the polaris. Food for thought.
