    Purchasing Bleach

Because you will purchase a lot of bleach in a Baquacil to Chlorine conversion, I thought it might be helpful to post a bit of current info on bleach prices in a dedicated thread. Your experience may vary in your area but use this info as a starting point. It has been interesting to note stores selling house brands are very close in price - almost identical. Affinity programs and promotions will likely be the factor that determines the best buy in your particular area.

Bleach prices Note: all of these are house brands!
From Wal Mart: Great Value Bleach 8.25% 121 fl oz for $2.98

    From Fred's: Fred's regular bleach 8.25% 121 fl oz for $2.95
Note: Fred's has an affinity program that offers rebates for purchasing Fred's branded products. Click here for more info on the Fred's Smart Card.

From Dollar General: DG Bleach 8.25% 121 fl oz for $3
Note: DG prices can be brought even lower with a bit of planning. All DG receipts in our area are offering a $5 off $30 (or more) purchase on the next Saturday evening. Given the amount of bleach you will go through, this is an excellent way to bring the price of DG's house brand down a bit more.
20K gal, IG vinyl, Waterfall on 2nd pump (1HP US Motor), Dolphin cleaning system, Central Arkansas, installed 1999
1HP Emerson (main pump), Purex Triton II (TR 60) Sand Filter (replaced original 2016), Purex Triton Mini Max Plus 250 Heater (unused for several years)
