decarative sheers on bond beam

Hi, we're about to start our pool, and are going to have 3 24" water sheers installed on a 12" raised 34' bond beam. Someone brought up an interesting: would these water features really look good given the fact that the beam is only 12" tall. Has anyone seen this done on a relatively short wall? Anyone willing to share some pictures?

Thanks!

I have a build in progress, so really no pictures to show. But, I'll have 4 18" sheers on a 12" raised wall

12" is pretty short for sheer descents. They will look nice, but they might not have the impact you want. Of course, it's an aesthetic decision based on what you like. Here is a picture I found of short descents that look nice.

If you want more impact, you can get special lighting for the sheer descents, and/or lighted laminars.

Note: Fiber optic lighting can be expensive and difficult to work with. If a builder is not experienced with that type of lighting, then it might not be worthwhile.

We were speaking with a PB last night about the possibility of adding some sort of waterfall or sheer descent to our 18-20" wall (pool remodel) to help create some white noise to help dampen neighborhood sounds (next door neighbor's dogs barking, adjacent backyard's teen in their pool, highway hum from a mile away, etc.) One thing the PB pointed out was that unless the water encounters other obstacles, like flowing down rocks or hitting several levels, they do not create much noise, so they are not particularly suitable for what we were intending. Just FYI.

As for the height, where is the raised wall in relation to the pool? Deep end? Shallow? Could you stand or sit under the sheers and have a waterfall shower effect? That might be cool.

Thanks for the feedback. We're less interested in the sound than it being visually appealing. The sheers are going to be placed on back wall which will mostly be the deep end, so not very likely that anyone will spend much time under the sheers.
