Did you pour the CYA directly into the skimmer or is it in a sock in the skimmer basket ?

A 2" rainfall into the average pool should change your numbers by less than 5%. I am sure there are some outliers (and folks will rush to post them up) but most rain events can be disregarded. I have no explanation why this "urban legend" is so prevalent.

Are you referring to what is already circulating? Because I took the stabilizer in the sock out a couple of days ago.
jblizzle said:They put 60-70ppm worth of CYA in the sock ... and were advised to remove the sock since you only want around 30ppm for the SLAM process. Sounds like not enough has dissolved yet.
