So I am on my first full season with the pool
The last several months my pool gets brown streaks on the floor???
I have a wanda the whale, and she cleans it up great in like 3 hours.
also the water will get a little cloudy when she is done.
2 days later the pool is sparkling clean again but the brown streaks start to show up again?

So tonight I backwashed the filter till clean and rinsed for like a minute , thinking that may be the cloudy issue.
But she is running for about 1 hour and its starting to get cloudy again?

We put the pool in late last year (Late july)
I dont remember getting theses brown streaks like I am now, Pollen has been high this summer.
Could that be it?
Or do I have a filter issue???
I run the filter 12 Hours everyday The pool will become sparkling after a while but the brown dirt type streaks are annoying

Wanda stirs up some of the fine dirt on the floor of the pool. Some of the débris is fine algae. I would venture to guess your chlorine is just barely keeping up with your algae.

A full test result will help us help you.

I could also be dead algae or sand on the floor. The clouding could be due to algae or it might be calcium clouding. Post a full set of test results (FC,CC,ph, TA, CH, cya).

OK FC 1.12
Alkality 90
Total CL 1.57
Cyanuric Acid 35
Salt 3330
Ph 7.8
Looks like it may be some type of algae
Im going to Shock it after I vacuum and see what happens this week.
Im looking at it good after wanda goes over it and looks liker it leaving a little stain on the liner..
I have the pool shocked to 22.5
Ill turn off the SWG and test at sunset and again in the morning to see what happens

So CL dropped to 19.5 from 22.5 overnite
I will bring shock level back up to 22 or so and retest tonight..
My CYA is at 35 its way low
Should I just keep slamming around FC 21 PPM or should I bring the CYA back up?
Or lower the FC Shock level to 16 per the chart?

Funny my water was always nice and clear all summer.
it only got cloudy when I vacuumed and then would clear right up

Will do
I just checked it
Its at 18 what level should I try to shock at?
With my CYA at 35 should I target 14 like the chart says

tested this morning FC down to 14 but CC is at zero
I added a little 12.5% Bleach (64 oz) and will test again tonight when I get home

Slam seemed to have worked out
I brought my Fc up to 18.5 last eve and shut down my SWG
I tested this morning and was at 18
Water looks good and clear
CC was Zero
I will scrubb pool down and backwash filter tonight.

I will be wintering soon. Should I bring the CYA back up ?

Thanks Guys

Have you passed all 3 criteria to stop the SLAM process? ... Looks like you have assuming there is not visible algae and the water has cleared up.

Why do you think your CYA at 35ppm is too low? That is within range and you are a good bit north so the sun is less intense .... OH, duh, you mention a SWG but it is not listed in your signature. Sounds like you can bring the CYA up for the SWG ... unless you are about to close in which case I might just wait until the spring.
