....Thinking of draining this fall not covering it and just raking the leaves out next year, prior to new liner going in...can anyone think of why this would be a bad idea?
Possible high winds and wall collapse would be your main concern. It could happen! You'd be smart to just let it halfway full, drain it next spring and then replace the liner. Don't make more work for yourself by possibly putting the whole thing back up.
