    Replacing pool liner next spring....

....Thinking of draining this fall not covering it and just raking the leaves out next year, prior to new liner going in...can anyone think of why this would be a bad idea?

    Thanks...Bo

I don't think it is a good idea to leave a liner pool empty over the winter whether it is IG or AG (which is yours?)

    AG pools will likely collapse.
IG pools could have the bottom or walls damaged by ground water.

I think you would be best o winterize it how ever you normally do and then finish the drain in the spring.

Possible high winds and wall collapse would be your main concern. It could happen! You'd be smart to just let it halfway full, drain it next spring and then replace the liner. Don't make more work for yourself by possibly putting the whole thing back up.
I'd bet you my bikini you'll never get TFP water from a pool store!
