Not really closing in South Carolina

Wife and I don't like putting cover on the pool during mild SC winters. We're both formally from the North and like being able to see pool water year round.

Other than running the filter during a cold snap what other tips on maintaining water quality levels can you suggest?

We go out every week or two to clean out the pine straw, frogs and worms.

Thanks to TFP we've enjoyed two great seasons of perfect pool water. Can't say thanks enough. Once or twice a year I go to Leslie's for calcium and always come home to tell the wife a funny story about what I hear while checking out. Unbelievable.

Your chemical usage will decline significantly as water temps drop. Usually only check mine once a week when it drops to 60. Be prepared to run the pump continuously during any freeze spells.
