Auto Pilot 220 cooling fans

I just looked at my control box on my autopilot. There are 2 fans. Im in Fl so its hot. 1 fan is running, the other is not. They share a
common hot lead but it looks like the ground wires go to 2 different outlets on the board plug. Are the fans controlled at a different time when more cooling is needed. Should they both be running all the time. The unit is about 7 years old. Thanks

They should both be on at the same time. Check the wire connections at both connectors to make sure they are all attached in the connector securely. If they are, then you have a bad fan.

If I need to replace the fan is it a 12 volt, 120 volt or other voltage fan.
Im curious as the fans seem to be temp activated. Yesterday the unit felt cool and the fans weren't running.
The other day the unit felt very warm and the one fan was running. That's why I made the thread.

Should be 12 volts (actually may be down as low as 9 volts) but they are not temperature activated. Depending on the age of your software, they may be on whenever the unit is energized (older sw) or may activate whenever the cell cycles ON.
