What a dye test looks like.

I made a video showing what to look for when using dye to locate a leak. When there is a leak the dye does not hang around or cling to a surface or edge, it gets sucked right into the void.

Excellent! What type dye did you use? I used food coloring and it spread and diluted into the surrounding water too quickly. It wasn't nearly as useful as what you are demonstrating.

    Thanks for posting that.

    You're done SLAMing when:
    1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

No problem. The dye I used is a black gel food dye that I found at a local restaurant supply store (http://www.mainesource.net/) mixed with water. Basically as I squirt it underwater it refills with water and becomes diluted over time. So when it becomes too diluted I add a few more drops of the gel. This is the dispenser http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.a ... &catid=535
