the water struggle not so much, deep well that also has water in dry periods.
Electricity, yes, expensive , but I now have solar panels that save quite a bit.
It is an experience, you don't know all the ins and outs. Found that the supplier of the pool has pretty big margins for installation.
I don't know how to compare to gunite pool other than the costs are way less. I was offered 55.000 Guilders (so roughly 30.000 US) for a 16X32 pool with only the basics (pump, filter).
No deck, no led light.
Vinyl is easy to build, con is the lifetime of the liner, but the cost of a new liner (1300$) seems very reasonable after 10 years (mine is guaranteed 15 years but with the sun here I doubt that is realistic).
