    Help identifying check valve

One of my check valves has a crack/leak in the cover. I am having a hard time finding the correct one to see if a replacement cover is available. Does anyone have one like this and do you know what the brand/model is? Thanks.

Sta Rite- cart 400 sqft. filter, Intellipro VS pump, 1hp (cleaning)2hp (water feature)Max E Pro's. Easy Touch 8 function w/IPod. Rainbow chlorinator, Paramount Clear O3 (I know, I know), Max-E-Therm 400K heater.

Here's one of them. It's an American Granby CR.

That's it. Thanks. I managed to find one late last night. I ordered the lid/cover for about $20

Can someone tell this novice what a "check valve" actually is / actually does? In case I ever need to know? Thanks.

    Re: Help identifying check valve

It only allows the water to flow in one direction. More to the point, it stops water from flowing backward from it's normal flow direction.

It's common pool/spa use is to keep the spa from draining back into the pool when the pump is off. There are other uses, but that's probably the most common.
