Hi,

New to the site and slowly learnign my way around the pool.

I am looking for a reputable pump rebuild service in the Chicago area. I have acumulated a number of pumps ovet the years and want to investigate if it is worth while to rebuild.

Also, does anyone have any words of wisdom about the best pump for a salt water pool? Mine seem to develope leaks fairly quickly.

Welcome to TFP!

There are no special pumps for SWG pools, the salt level is about triple that found in a "normal" pool, but still 1/10 that found in the ocean.

I think there are some shaft seals designed for true ocean salt water, but not sure if they work any better.
