Sounds like you need to read the aquarite thread.

Remove the front cover plate and check the inrush current limiter on the circuit board. Quarter size black disc.

See if it's cracked or burned. Turn power off to unit before removing cover plate.

If it's cracked, then it's probably bad. It can be replaced. Is your unit under warranty? Can you post a picture of the limiter?

    Re: Power Light on Chlorinator

I think that the limiter is most likely the bad part. This should be the part you need:

If you are not good are soldering components, you should be able to find someone local who can, such as a computer, TV or electronics repair shop.

Without being on site to check the unit, I can't be sure that this is your problem. You will have to decide if it's worthwhile to try this repair.

What are the first 4 characters of the serial numbers on the power box and cell?

    Re: Power Light on Chlorinator

Make sure to document where the wires go before removing the circuit board, including taking a few pictures. Use wire nuts on the power supply wires while the circuit board is out. Make sure that you maintain good chlorine levels during this time. Liquid chlorine is a good choice.

Also, note that older models used a smaller current limiter with a different part number. (SL32 2R025) (570-1062-ND). New limiter is AS32 2R025. Check the part number on your limiter to make sure that you are getting the right one.

The Walmarts around here have solder and irons. Radio shack has them too.

    Re: Power Light on Chlorinator

Remove the wires connected to the circuit board. Be sure to carefully note where they go. Turn off power to the unit first.
