I recently added Borates to my pool. I used the pool calculator and added 380oz of the stuff (5 boxes). I accidentally added a bit too much muratic acid (256oz instead of the 177oz it called for). Since I know muratic acid can be very dangerous to the eyes, how do I know when the water is "safe", especially since we like to open our eyes and dive for toys, etc? Is there a way to test or do the harmful effects disappear after a certain time? I did all this on Sunday and ran the filter for 48 hours. I tested some of my values last night.
