1st set of numbers

Pool is up and pump and filter are running.
It set for a day while i was stuck at work. But now im on top of it i hope

CYA 30 assumed just added about 2 lbs.
TA 70
PH 7.3 (looked in between .2-.5)
FC 0 adding 105oz of 8.25% to bring me to a target 8
CH about to test it once it quits pouring.


Hope im on right track. I have been reading PS a bunch.

will test FC again in about 30 to let it mix.

Don't raise you FC that much until the CYA is mostly dissolved. With 0ppm of CYA, a FC of 2ppm is plenty. Then once dissolved with a target of 30ppm, keep the FC > 2ppm and around 3-4ppm ... unless you think there is some reason to SLAM it.

It just worries me setting there for about 25 hours with nothing in it but water. There's some dead bugs few leaves. It's got another day before I'll let anyone use it. I just wanted to ensure I or off o a good start.

This pump is a monster the cya is about gone already.

Speed Stir Question....

Do I need to add my drops of reagent then stir, or can I start it stirring and add while its stirring. I didn't see any specific instructions about not doing that, but I don't want to get bad numbers by doing that.

I start the stirrer and then begin adding drops for all the reagents.

Concerning using the speed stir. I've never seen anyone post this before but get your water level first in the graduated cylinder and then put the speed stir magnet in which will displace some water making it look higher.
