My TA is too High at 190-200, I used pool calc to lower PH from 7.8 down towards 7.1. I have added the correct amount of MA per calc. PH doesnt seem to move much. Should I keep going? My PH seems stable. I thought TA acted like a buffer for PH swings? My TA is suppoed to be at 60-80.

Hmmp, May be I have something setup wrong in my calc? I will verify the numbers I input when I get home for lunch. BTW I had to buy 14.5% yesterday to complete this task. no 29% available. Whic means now I have to double it.

Seems reasonable to need that much of the 14% MA to lower the pH from 7.5 to 7.1 with a TA of 200. According to the calculator, it should have required 40 oz of the 15% MA.

I too am a little surprised the TA moved that much.

Could it be the static testing error?

Playing with the pool calculator, I come up with a starting TA of 150ish for that much movement, dropping to about 110.

Or maybe I'm doing something wrong with the calculator.....
