pH and FC adjustments

I am testing with strips (will be ordering a kit after finding this website today). Anyway, the pH is now 8.4 (I over corrected) and FC is 0.5 and was before I added the pH plus. My question is: do I correct the pH first or the FC? It will be raining this week so no one will be in the pool. Pool School is looking like a great resource and the Pool Calculator VERY HELPFUL-so glad I found this site!

Welcome to TFP!!!

They are both important and can be adjusted within 30-60 minutes of each other ... assuming you want to temporarily believe the test strips until your kit arrives.

Either or. Just give the stuff time to mix well before switching chemicals. Half an hour should be enough if the pump is running and you give the pool a brushing to help stir things up.
