Newbie here. We have a new pool with pump/filter. I see many posts and articles about pressure running at least 10 on a normal day. Ours from day one has been running about 4-5psi with the pump on low. Is that normal or ok? Everything seems to be working ok though and so far pool is staying clean. Is it just due to low speed of pump and large pipes? We should then backwash once our pressure hits 6-8? Thanks all!

Mine registers less than 4 psi on low, completely normal. You should use high speed pressures for determining when the filter needs to be cleaned.

My low is 7, but I think my filter needs cleaning. I'd backwash on high, see what pressure on high is with clean filter, then add 20-25% to that and check high readings for "time to backwash".
