Hello from Syracuse, NY - home of the Syracuse University Orangeman. This forum is a great idea, and having an inground lazy-L since 1995, I realize I still have a lot to learn and this is a good way to do it.

As far as the 3 B's - I can buy 5 gallons of 12% liquid chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite) (Stabilizer free) for about the same price as 6% bleach from Walmart. Shouldn't I continue to use the 12% considering the double potentcy?

Welcome. If you can get it for the same price, why not? Less trips, less carrying...smaller doses...

I do recall reading that the higher potency forms lose their potency over time, especially if not stored in a cool, dry place. I wouldn't stock up...LOL.

I know. I felt like a total Noob after 6 years of pool ownership....
