Replacing Polaris Booster Pump (PB4-60)

My existing booster pump needs replacing. I've got a new PB4-60 on hand, ready to install. Wanting to make sure I'm doing this correctly, especially since it'll be the first time I'm touching any of connections on my pumping system. My main concern is making sure I don't break any of the pool side pvc connections when removing/adding the new fittings. Should I have any trouble there?

Here's what it currently looks like:

From what I can tell, they had cut the inlet hose too long, there shouldn't be a kink there.

Also, is any clear silicone sealant fine on the threads? How long should I wait before turning running it?

It should be pretty straightforward...unless you freakishly overtighten those connections, you shouldn't have any problems with damaging them. I'd probably use teflon pipe dope for the connections rather than silicone.
