Just wondering, do I have to shut the gas heater off if I'm doing a backwash? I've had my pool up and running for about a week now. Only had the heater for two days.
Thanks,
Johnny
Well, it should shut itself off, because it won't be getting any flow while you're backwashing. But, maybe a better idea just to shut it off beforehand.
Most heaters will power down with no flow but i always turn mine off a few min before the pump to completely cool the unit as i feel its simple insurance for a longer service life
