Testing CYA...

My neighbor has a green bloom and I'm gonna take my TF100 down and hopefully show him the light :grin:, fortunately I've never had anything but crystal clear water since finding TFP..my question is how accurate or possible is testing CYA with greenish water? I can only assume it can be done but may be a little harder?? At least I know I can't figure out his shock level without at least knowing his CYA

Take a reading in the view tube with plain pool water and see how cloudy it is. Then you'll know how skewed the results may be. I'll bet it won't have any effect.

Shame on you!

Very rarely, cloudy or murky water can affect the CYA test. To check for this, fill the view tube with straight pool water. If you can still see the black dot clearly, the cloudy/murky water is not affecting the test result.
