I have an electric heat pump and it keeps leaking. Whenever I run it there is a metal bean shaped container which the heat elements join into and water leaks out where these elements enter. There is a plastic nut that I can tighten and the leak stops until I run the heater again and the it starts leaking again. This heater may be on its last leg or summer can anyone recommend a quality electric heat pump for an above ground 24' pool?

I am not familiar with the construction of the heat pump, but it sounds like a sealing problem. Maybe there are gaskets in those seals that need replacing?

Those look like cgb's (cable glands). There should be a tapered rubber bushing under the nut. You might be able to cut an o-ring and put it under the nut and get it to tighten the wedge down.
