I keep losing prime

This problem just cropped up over night, been working fine all year. it is a self priming pump, and has worked perfectly up to this point. Now it takes about 30 seconds to prime and only keeps it for about 1 second then a big burp of air seems to come from somewhere and the process starts over. I have checked all the plugs and O ring, seems ok. doesnt seem to be any blockage, but i dont really know how to confirm that

Check for low water level in the skimmer, or a stuck weir.

Where are you seeing the bubbles?

Have you lubed the o-ring on the pump strainer lid? Use the proper pool lube from the pool store. Other lubes can cause the rubber to harden.

water level was the problem, now i feel like a tard, oh well another crises averted. thanks guys

I learned long ago to start with the least expensive part if you are looking to solve a problem. Its the part most likely to fail. Water is pretty cheap.
