All boric acid created equal?

Thanks to this forum, I'm ready to try borates. I've been very happy using The BBB method and am now ready to kick it up a notch.

I've decided to do boric acid instead of borax and muriatic acid, simply for ease. I found some online from cq concepts, 5 pounds for $16.

Is all boric acid the same or do I need to go to a particular vendor?

What is the best place to get the special test strips?

If it is technical grade (which the cq concepts stuff looks like it is), it should work. Granules work best verses powder...I can't tell which theirs is. They don't say what the shipping is. dudadiesel has 5 lbs for 19 shipped.

Keep in mind that you are going to need ~ 51 lbs to raise your 14000 gallon pool to 50 ppm borates. 16X11= $177 (not including shipping) at cq where at duda 55 lbs is $75 (plus shipping...which is about $30 for me).
