How do you remove cap on Doughboy Impeller?

We just bought a Doughboy pool with a Power Pak 1 pump, date on it is 1999. The previous owner said it worked fine but leaked a little. So I bought a kit that has new seals in it and went to start pulling the pump apart. There is a plastic or metal cap on the center of the impeller that I assume is hiding a nut. How do you remove that cap? Thank you!!!

Does the impeller unscrew or is there a nut under that cap?

Welcome to TFP!
My understanding is that impellers typically are just threaded on the shaft, and to unscrew it you need to stop the shaft from moving and spin the impeller in the same direction as it normally turns.
