Help with Taylor K-1515 CC FAS-DPD test

I just recieved my Taylor K-1515 test ... having a problem :::

Filled to 25ML
Added 2 dippers ,swirled , it turned real pink
Added R-0871 reagent drops and counted -- 21 to turn from pink to clear
Multiply 0.2x(21) = 4.2
Then is says to add 5 drops of R-0003 -says it would turn back to pink , but it stayed clear???

HELP???

That means you have no CCs, which is a good thing!

Yup. Also a note that you can use a 10ml sample and multiply the # of drops by 0.5 ... saves the reagents and there is no need for more accuracy than that.

4.2 ppm is your Free Chlorine (FC) level. Whether is at a good level or not depends on your cyanuric acid (cya) level and also if your water is clear. Do you know what your cya level is?

Depends what your CYA is: pool-school/chlorine_cya_chart_shock

But, that is certainly not HIGH unless your CYA is near 0ppm.

It really is easier/cheaper to buy the correct kit to start with. {just a note for any future readers}

If your ordering a test kit( note i have the k2006) you should get the tf100 with xl and speedstir it has more of the chemical reagents than the taylor kit. I have had to reorder reagents for the cya and chlorine test already

Also the box that comes with the TF is better than the blue box that comes with the Taylor kits. It's easier to use on a daily basis.
