What product do you use to raise CYA?

You use CYA to raise your CYA. It is normally packaged as Stabilizer or Conditioner. It get mine at WalMart for 4# for $15. It has a purple lid. We call it CYA for the active ingredient isocyanuric acid and to make it easy to type.

To add the granular CYA to the pool, place the granules in a sock, old T-shirt, or similar implement. Then tie it up and either place it in the skimmer or suspend it in front of a return jet. The handle on an old bleach bottle filled with water makes a great and portable anchor from which to suspend the sock (or whatever you are using) in front of a return jet.
