Intex 16X48 - SandPro 75 - pump not working

I have an Intex 16X48 above ground pool and added the SandPro75 filter/pump last summer and loved how well it worked. Never had a dirty pool !! Last week, however, I had to stop using it.
While the pump was still running, I noticed that water started pouring out of the sand tank. I felt the intake and there was no suction but there was water coming out of the tank and into the pool. I immediately turned it off but have no clue what to do now.

Has anyone had this problem or have any tips on things for me to look at first before I call a service tech? I'm not mechanically inclined but the motor sounded and seemed to be running the same as before this happened.

Where was the water coming out of the tank at?

The water was coming out of the lid.

Turns out the culprit was "fluff" from the neighbors cottonwood tree.
Although I have the wall skimmer, it is getting through and clogging the hair filter on the motor.
Guess I will have to keep a closer eye on that.
Wanted to post update in case anyone else ever runs across the same issue.
