Like the title says, my pump trips when the filter is on backwash or rinse. Runs fine when on filter. I am guessing that the increased backpressure on the pump when the filter is set to filter is causing whatever is wrong with the pump to fix itself. Any ideas?

It trips after running about 5-10 seconds. It also makes more noise when the filter is set to BW and rinse, like a bearing issue. Just funny how it runs great when set to filter.
Yes, it is the CB that trips. Sometimes the pump itself will shutoff and stay off until it cools.

Motor/Pump is drawing more amperage when switched to backwash or rinse obviously. Is the drain (backwash port) obstructed? Going thru a hose? How old is pump/filter?
Pump/Filter is less than a year old. Currently don't have any hose on the backwash port, its blowing right into the yard. That's why I am thinking that the increased pressure is actually keeping the pump running.
