Thread: Borate question

    Borate question

Just started the BBB method this year and haven't needed to add any Borax yet. Just finishing Ascorbic Acid treatment and working on getting alk/ ph/ chlorine lined out. Want to put borates in but cant find test strips anywhere locally. I will get some ordered. Can I assume that I have zero borates since I have never added Borax? Would like to get started on this, should I wait till I get test strips or proceed. At any rate, I wont start this until all is stabile from the AA treatment.
The AA treatment worked like a miracle, looks like I have a new liner.

    Re: Borate question

It should be 0 if you have never added any.
Why do you want to add them? Seems to me that some of the benifits are overstated by some.
