Need help with a sand filter....sand is being spit back into pool along with dirt.....changed the sand as suggested from pool store and it happened again....pool is also cloudy....not sure if its the sand....help please

It sounds as if you might possibly have a broken lateral inside the filter causing that. Hang a sock or nylon over the return and see what it catches exactly. Welcome to TFP.
Cloudy pool = bad balance.
Do you have a test kit? Or have you been relying on the pool store for testing?

It does sound like something may be broken inside the filter as was stated. Mine was doing that a lil bit when I first set it up. Try doing a backwash and after the backwash make sure to run it on rinse for at least 30 seconds to make sure the sand settles back down properly.
Also, make sure you are using the number 20 sand if its an intex filter. If not see what the sand filter states as to which sand is required.
