    How to: vacuum AG pool?

What is the procedure for AG vacuuming regarding valves and pump settings. Is it okay to place the hose directly into the skimmer basket housing without an adapter? Do you need to backwash afterward, how is that done? Thanks!!!

You can vacuum to either the filter setting or to the waste setting (if you have enough water). You can place the vacuum hose directly into the skimmer hole. Backwash when filter pressure rises by 25% over normal. Use the backwash setting on the multiport valve if you have one. Stop the pump any time you move that valve btw.

So pump should be off until the vacuum is connected, then after vacuuming switch pump off and disconnect? Not sure if I have a multiport valve.....
