Getting started

Re: New #'s with TF 100

Looks like its time to SLAM.

lower PH to 7.2
Get CYA no higher than 30. Will use less chlorine. Raise to shock level.
Follow SLAM process.

Thanks, I understand. I also want to mention my water is sparkly clear, even though I have some algae on the bottom. i have just received my TF-100 kit and also sold a friend, and my son, one of them.

After SLAM last night I had 20 FC, with 7.2 PH and sparkling water. Location where I had vacuumed I assume algae are now white spots. Should I vacuum to waste or will it be ok to just vacuum? And I had no CC.

You have finished the SLAM process when....

1. Your pool water is sparkling
2. Your CC's are .5ppm or less
3. You can hold your FC overnight without losing more than 1ppm.

Sounds like you completed #1 and #2, what about #3?

I wont know until in the morning. I have removed the solar blanket, aerating water to bring PH up without raising TA, which was 140. Also waiting to see how much CC drops due to sunlight today. It should not be safe to swim with CC of 20, right? Also, no comment on which is best to remove dead algae.
