Lowering ta with minimal effect on ph

I know tfp experts, admins and moderators are going to jump all over this but, oceanstate job lots has ph minus with instructions on the back for lowering ta with minimal effect on ph. I will tell you it worked great. Lowered ta by 15 with almost no movement on ph. Got tired of the aeration process.

Can you tell us the product name and brand?

The label says it "lowers pH and TA", although I admit I didn't read the entire label

It's sodium bisulfate, by pool mate I believe

All forms of acid lower both PH and TA. Sodium bisulfate is generally called dry acid around here, though it goes by a wide variety of brand names.

Re: Lowering ta with minimal effect on ph

I just happened to see the post before I went to Ocean State Job Lot (same store OP bought it) and thought I'd help fill in some blanks when I saw the product on the shelf. I just wanted to note the very first line of the instructions:

...even though OP states a product named pH Minus

    Dier74,

Any update on those instructions or at least a product description and the brand name?
