Upgrading from an Easy Set 18' that we had for a few years. Top ring had a slow leak, skimmer sucks, etc. I really wanted a rectangular pool, so I convinced my wife to get the big one. I had already upgraded the pump and filter last year so I'm reusing the filter and upgrading the pump. I am cutting out all Intex plumbing except the standalone SWG unit. All other components will be Hayward. Got 2 wide mouthed through wall skimmers and a handful of return fittings, all Hayward. currently in the process of plumbing but I wanted to start posting my pics and get some feedback.

You can see how the skimmers line up on the wall. I installed them on the side first, then cut out the middle. The gaskets that came with the skimmers that meet with the pool wall are U shaped, i think i saw someone call them butterfly gaskets. this wouldn't work for me, since I wanted to mount the skimmers and THEN cut the opening. So I sliced the gaskets in half and trimmed the excess material off with sharp scissors. I also got a pair of Intex magnetic LED lights. They work great!

Close up of the skimmer on the side. I think Hayward shorted me a few screws, I had to swing by the pool place and grab a small pack. The Skimmer does lean a bit down, due to the angle of the wall sloping out at the bottom. Not sure how to correct this yet....

I have the pool filled to the bottom of the skimmer bracket so far. More pics need to be taken. I have started on the return fitting plumbing. I plan on using both of the holes in the liner that Intex made for returns. I'm going to have 2" PVC running between the pump, filter and SWG, going to a tee, and reducing to 1-1/2" to the skimmers and returns.

Sorry it's 13 x 22. Exact same a intex butt made by polygroup. The pics look great, but oh my is it ever huge! I'm kinda freaking out
It is big but I wanted to get the largest I could at a decent price. That pretty much mandated Intex. Coming from an Easy Set pool, I'm fairly happy with their quality overall, but I will never buy an inflatable ring pool again, nor will I let anyone I know get one if there is a size in a frame pool that would work for them. I do wish that the sides didnt slope out so much, but theres a lot of water to hold in so I can understand why. We have a big yard so it doesn't make much of a dent in the amount of space used.
Getting on with the plumbing. I have the return side finished, and opened up the valves so it is wet up through the SWG and to the filter. Working on the suction/skimmer side now. hopefully I'll have water flowing tomorrow.
