Advice on replacing 2hp pump motor

I have an 18ft round AGP that is four years old. The salesman did me a "favor" by selling me the largest cartridge pump available at the pool store.

I have a Hayward Swimpro CC1250 filter rated at a max flow of 90gpm.

The pump is a Hayward Powerflow LX with a 2hp motor.

The motor plate states it is an AO Smith motor part 7-193554-01.
Frame: R48Y
HP: 2.0
SF: SFL
Code: H
115V 60hz 1ph 15 Amps

I would like to go to a more appropriate size motor but can I use the same pump? Will I need to change out the impeller? According to the Hayward pump manual I am suppose to refer to the part number on the impeller.

Any suggestions on a good source fo rthe motor?

Thanks,
Rich

If you reduce the HP of the motor, you will also need to replace the impleller. Hayward usually lists the part number for the other implellers and motors so it shouldn't be too hard to replace both. Get the entire impeller kit which includes the seals as well.

Here is a good place for the motors but there are so many places that carry them.
