I've added about 90% of a 4 lb tin of CYA powder, and my CYA barely moved even after about 2 weeks! I put it in the skimmer, but didn't use a sock. There are two holes underneath the skimmer basket plate - to vacuum, our PB said to cover the left one with a tennis ball and hook a vacuum hose up to the right hole. Could it be that the CYA powder went down the wrong hole, and is just hanging out down there (or worse, clogging something up)?
Edit: I just realized that 1 lb is 16 oz, not 32 oz. Whoops! Looks like things are ok then, if my CYA level is at 10 after 50 oz of CYA powder. Could someone still explain what the two holes underneath the skimmer are for? Thanks!
