Pool water too hot!

My intex pool is too hot in the afternoon after a hot summer day. I have a cover that I place every night.
Any ideas on how to cool the pool once it reachs 90?

Leave the cover off at night. That should lower the temperature.

Use a fountain to aerate (a makeshift fountain from the return will work if you can make one of those, plenty of homemade pvc examples on the forum)
Keep the cover off at night so the heat isn't held in when the air cools and the sun goes down.

^^^ yep, leave off the cover and you could try running the pump at night to help w/cooling the water.

What about some type of shade sails or maybe some well placed umbrellas?

There is also the pool cooler. Use Google, upper right, for some ideas.

I'll do a 50/50 swap with you, Just bring over a bunch and take some of my cooler water :lol:

I am with everyone else with the cover off. I wish that was a problem here in Southern Indiana. Weather has been so bad, water is down to 75. We need the rain and cool weather to go away and bring back some sunshine.

I wish I could help you danpik and deeanron. But I tell you there is nothing worst than having a pool, temp at 95 and your pool at 90.

Find out where you can get a large chunk of ice and use it for a float!? Our public pool does that when it gets the hottest. No where near the diving area of course. LOL

I just want to let you know that I removed the cover and I built the fountain and the temperature is down 10 degrees to about 85.

Sweet! I have an offset umbrella that shields a portion of it from the late afternoon sun and it is doing ok. Still... I'm going to build a fountain in a few weeks.

I wish we too we could swap some water. We've hardly been in our pool this summer because of the cooler weather this year. Lucky to get to 80 degrees in the pool and often then it feels cold to us. Looking forward to some warmer weather and swimming over the weekend... fingers crossed!
