Usually I keep I bottle of chlorine out by the pool. It is behind a fence next to my pump in its original bottle. Is the sun affecting it in the bottle? I know that white plastics tend to let light in.
Can 12.5% chlorine be stored in the regular old chlorox container or would it eat it??

That'll have almost no effect on 6 or 8.25% and not much on 12%.

That said, re-read woodyp's advice that dark and cool is always better. If I could pick only one, I would pick cool.

As many others have said, a cool and dark place is the best. One other thing I will add is, if you get a multi-pack of chlorine where the bottles are packed in a cardboard box, I would keep the bottles in the box until you need them. That will help keep light off of them.
