first test results with tf 100 - combined chlorine question

    saltwater generator

    fc - 3.5
    cc - 0.5
    ph - 7.4
    alkalinity - 120
cya less than 20 (dot was slightly visible at 20, but disappeared when tube was full).

    1. will the combined chlorine go away with time or do i need to shock to get it to zero?
    2. should i wait till combined chlorine gets to zero before raising cya?

Re: first test results with tf 100 - combined chlorine quest

Ignore CC that is at or below 0.5 ppm.

Start raising cya now. Our recommended level is 70-80 ppm cya for swg pools, but be careful...cya is easy to add but drain/refill to remove.
TFP Expert who uses Pool School and my TF100 test kit along with PoolMath for my: Round 11K gallon AGP with deep end, 20" sand filter, Matrix 1hp 2spd, 6 2ftX20ft solar panels (and solar cover!), Intex SWCG (copper bars disconnected) and a Rubadub hot tub (chlorine). The SLAM process is not finished until: 1. CC < 0.5 ppm, 2. An OCLT < 1.0 ppm and, 3. The water is crystal clear.
