My 280 constantly gets stuck in the corner of my steps. Pretty much every 10 mins. I've tried adjusting the nozzle and doesn't help. I'm thinking the tank trax conversion might be what I need to help it out. Anyone running a tank trax? Worth the $70?

You should not need the trax kit unless you have a vinyl liner. THat said, the corner problem is usually taken care of by the backup valve. If your backup valve does not pull the 280 out of the corners every five or so minutes, then that's your problem.
The backup valve works, but the vacuum spends at least 1/2 of it's time stuck in that corner. I've tried adjusting the squirter on the back to many positions. I'm going to try the trax and see how that works and report back.
Another problem that could cause this is the swivel connectors in the feed hose may have gummed up and no longer swivel freely. Make sure they can move easily.
I can't wait to read your report on the trax. My 280 does the same thing on my steps. I've fooled around with a bunch of "adjustments" and can't get it to perform on/near the steps.
I tried removing the backup valve to get more cleaning time and that was a HUGE fail LOL.
I did buy the replacement tip for the tail and it does eliminate 90% of the squirting outside of the pool issues.
