Hello all ...ok so here's my story. Last summer a neighbor successfully found and put up an AGP AND deck he found on Craig's List. Never knew such a world existed. I followed his lead and within a couple of weeks did the same. Initial selling price was about $300 but after a/b 4-5 weekends of my husband tearing it down himself it was found that rust had disintegrated a significant part of the lower pool wall and other parts (that I have to learn the names of) that were buried underground. In the end we only paid $150.00 (pump & filter).
After all of his hard work I just couldn't tell him to put it on the curb for trash pickup so we stored it in our garage. We began to search for someone to install it around April. A picture was sent of a cap and the person responded with this, "Your pool is a model that is marketed by Buster Crabb and Poseidon Pools (among others). I don't believe that pool is still in production. But I think some of the parts may still be available from the dealer." (can anyone advise if he's correct). The guy has been giving us the run around so now we're back to square one with only 8/9 more weeks of summer weather. (He never saw any other part of the pool).
So I ask this...from looking at the pictures is this wall fixable? How can I be sure it's a Buster Crabbe? After identifying the manufacturer how do I identify the model? Would I be able to purchase all of the damaged/ rusted parts? This is a stretch but would a dealer have a manual or parts sheet? And in your honest opinion should we just haul this off to the scrap yard?
The sand filter is only two years old (we have the paperwork) and the pump is fairly "newer" too. The legs and most of the caps/ top railings look to be in decent shape as well. The pool was up and running when we went over to look at it but it does need a new liner. Now here comes the part where I disappoint...I cannot remember the size or shape. I was under the impression that the seller had paperwork for the pool as well and deleted all of our correspondence...I know...I know
I would appreciate any help, suggestions, and all comments.
