vinyl pool..no need for CH increaser?

After we relocate our pool and refill, I was wondering if we should invest in any CH chemicals or since our pool is vinyl, does that not matter? Would adding it hurt anything if we test and need it? Or would not using it mess with the other chemist abilities or readings?

The general feeling here is there is minimal need for CH in vinyl pools, but keeping it at a level of 50+ ppm is safe, your fill water is likely 50ppm or higher, so check that before thinking about buying anything.

There are members with 0ppm for CH in vinyl pools with no problems.
