Bleach/Salt Question

Also keep in mind that ANY source of chlorine will increase the salt level because when chlorine gets used/consumed it turns into chloride (as in sodium chloride, table salt). Bleach and chlorinating liquid add extra salt upon addition. For every 10 ppm Free Chlorine (FC) added by bleach and chlorinating liquid, it will increase salt (after the chlorine is used/consumed) by 17 ppm. So if you have 2 ppm FC per day chlorine usage, the salt level will increase by 100 ppm per month if there is no water dilution. Not a big deal since salt is relatively innocuous, especially compared to CYA or CH which would build up from stabilized chlorine or Cal-Hypo, respectively.
