Maintaining the FC

In the pool calcuLator it says to maintain the FC for our pool between 4 and 8. So what does this mean and what do you guys do?

Since this is our first full summer with the pool we are still learning a lot and trying to figure it out.

I have figured out that depending on the day we loose between 3 and 0 FC over the course of 24 hr. we have been adding bleach to bring the FC to about 6-7 in the evening and bY the next evening it's been between 3.5-7 depending on the wx and swim load.

Is this pretty much the best way to run it?

Sounds good to me. How much sun does it get and what is your CYA ?

Yep, you have it figured out.

Full sun from 1000 till about 4:30 and cya was 50 at the last check.

We were just wondering. Trying to keep it clean and safe at the same time as economical as possible. We're using about 4-5 jugs of 121oz bleach a week right now.

Be sure and bump up your FC.............BEFORE.........any parties of heavy bather loads. The best problem is the one that never happens.
