Just set up my first intex...soft side 10 foot--Pump

This is a rookie question.....but do you leave the pump on at all times? As in, attached to the pool? Its not ok for the electrical component to be in the rain is it? Feeling dumb.

    Welcome to tfp, kkschuessler

I left my small intex cart filter out all summer when I had one.

Because its such a small capacity filter, I left mine running 24 hours per day for 4 summers. It still works!

It also was rained on, sprayed by sprinklers and splashed by kids without trouble.

My experience is that if the plug gets wet it will trip the built in GFCI, but getting splashed on and rained on is definitely not a problem for the pump itself.
