Replacing In Line Chlorinator Plumbing Help

I just switched from a Hayward CL2002 inline chlorinator to a SWG. Is there a "blank" made to fit in the spot where the Hayward was. Are there small unions of the same size as the Hayward in line so you could make your own blank? Is there any danger in leaving the empty chlorinator in line with no chlorine in it? One of the CL2002 unions is glued to close to another fitting to cut and replace.
Thoughts? Ideas?

Paul
